The Digital Innovation Hub of Western Macedonia, SYNERGiNN EDIH, will operate in Western Macedonia, offering digital innovation services. As a former lignite mining region, the area is highly likely to face structural unemployment and uncertainty. According to the National Energy and Climate Plan, diversification and development in the region focus on Environment and Energy. SYNERGiNN EDIH will guide the use of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, and Big Data, leveraging Western Macedonia’s expertise in the Energy and Environmental sectors.

SYNERGiNN EDIH specializes in the Energy and Environment sectors, which are key strategic areas for the region. Energy is of critical importance since Western Macedonia has a skilled workforce in this field. Additionally, the European Union is funding a state-of-the-art waste management facility in the area. The members of SYNERGiNN EDIH have experience in various domains, including smart grids, predictive maintenance, process optimization, energy management, Industry 4.0, circular economy, bioeconomy, and smart cities. The technologies the hub will focus on include Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, and Big Data.

OTS, with its extensive experience in the digital transformation of the Public Sector, will participate in this three-year project, contributing its expertise and know-how in its field of specialization.
