Corporate Social Responsibility

At OTS, every action we take aims to improve the lives of people in cities. Oriented towards achieving our vision, we innovate with passion, effectively utilize technology and play a leading role in developments, for the benefit of people and society. Our Corporate Social Responsibility actions are based on 4 main axes: People, Society, Academic Community and Environment.

01

People

Since its inception, OTS has placed Humanity at its core.

Starting from the needs of citizens, we design products that contribute to eliminating bureaucracy, automating processes, and providing e-services. In this way, we help citizens access services promptly, efficiently, and without the need for physical visits to any public authority.

Our provision of technological solutions that simplify daily life is not limited to citizens but extends to public sector organizations, which constitute our primary clientele. To meet our clients' needs, we actively involve them in the development process of our applications, gathering continuous feedback and new suggestions. By collaborating closely with them, we ensure that the solutions we offer are of the highest value and quality.

At the same time, we recognize that the growth and development of our people, as well as the provision of a stable and healthy working environment, are top priorities. With their progress as our guiding principle, we continuously invest in their training through OTS Academy. This initiative offers lifelong learning programs in collaboration with educational institutions, along with an annual training allowance of up to €500 for personal education. Additionally, we provide private health insurance for employees and their families, as well as paid parental leave for new parents. Finally, we support our employees’ choice to live outside urban centers by establishing new offices in regional cities such as Trikala and Kozani.

02

Society

With over three decades of presence in the IT sector, we lead the digital transformation both locally and nationally, while simultaneously creating new job opportunities. Within this framework, we strive to contribute to reducing unemployment and brain drain by offering employment opportunities to individuals facing difficulties in finding work. These new roles are aimed at both recent graduates and groups that struggle to integrate into the labor market, such as persons with disabilities, long-term unemployed individuals, etc. The selection of new colleagues is guided by our aim to create a workplace that represents the diversity of society and promotes a culture of inclusion.

To achieve this, we have developed collaborations with Greek universities and the Public Employment Service (DYPA), participating in Career Days and subsidized programs that support a wide range of social groups.

Recognizing the importance of altruistic blood donation to meet increasing demands, we organize two to three voluntary blood drives annually at the company’s offices. Specifically, we collaborate with the "Thessaloniki General University Hospital AHEPA," maintaining the OTS Blood Bank. To date, 31 blood drives have been organized, resulting in over 500 blood extractions and more than 670 blood units donated. Thanks to the volunteers, the OTS Blood Bank has used over 270 units of blood for employees or their relatives.

In October 2022, we took the initiative to equip our Thessaloniki office, which houses the majority of our workforce, with a semi-automatic defibrillator. The LIFEPAK CR Automated External Defibrillator is available for use by OTS personnel and any citizen in need within the wider area. Its location has been registered on the National Map to ensure its availability in emergencies.

Finally, we support those in need whenever possible. Each year, we collect essentials, clothing, food, and medicines, which we donate to socially vulnerable groups. In 2023, we gathered supplies for the earthquake victims in Turkey and the flood victims in Thessaly. Additionally, we annually collect medicines nearing their expiration date to assist Doctors of the World.

Academic Community

To support young graduates in transitioning smoothly from academic to professional life, we offer internship opportunities. In collaboration with the Internship Offices of Greek Universities, we provide students with the chance to gain work experience in a dynamic and open working environment while being trained alongside experienced professionals.

We also collaborate with University Career Offices, participating in the Career Days they organize. During these events, we meet new talent through brief interviews and organize workshops on best practices for CV writing, interview preparation, and career orientation to help them in their future professional endeavors.

Simultaneously, we actively support initiatives and research groups formed within academic and technological institutions as well as schools. By maintaining steady collaborations, we organize "Open Office Days," inviting students and pupils to visit our premises, receive tours from our staff, and learn about our teams. Finally, we contribute periodically to addressing the needs of institutions and educational organizations across the country by providing technology equipment for their IT laboratories.

04

Environment

At OTS, we operate with respect for the environment. In implementing our vision, we aim to leave a positive impact on the environment, creating a sustainable future for the next generations. We achieve this not only through our business activities but also through our daily practices.

In our day-to-day operations, we have adopted electronic document management, thereby reducing the volume of printing, toner waste, and paper usage. Additionally, we systematically reduce the printing of promotional brochures, utilizing technology for their distribution (internet, QR codes, USB sticks).

With environmental awareness, we significantly minimize our energy footprint. We have replaced incandescent light bulbs with energy-saving lamps in all company buildings and implemented automation in electrical sockets, heating, and air conditioning to prevent unnecessary device usage. Our facilities also include designated recycling bins for paper, glass, plastic, aluminum, and batteries.

Lastly, we organize group activities that positively impact the environment. Every September, in celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day, we organize beach cleanups with our employees, their friends, and families under the motto "Let it CLEAN, there is NO PLANet B."
