Project Description

Electronic Delivery building block (eDelivery) is on of the main digital services that are part of the “Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) digital programme. The digital services called building block Digital Service Infrastructures (DSIs) will play a vital role in the data exchange between organizations, from various European countries. They are re-usable software specifications that will be a part of a wider range of information systems in the EU.

eDelivery helps public services and administrations exchange electronic data and documents reliably and with safety. Every participant is transformed into a vital node who uses standardized transfer and privacy protocols. It allows direct communication between the parties involved without the need to establish biparty channels.

The main goal of eDelivery is to ensure that the public organisations can trade any kind of data and document, within, but mainly outside the borders, contributing in a European market that will be ready to welcome the digital era.

eDelivery may also be used in the communication of public organisations and companies, and vice versa, as it is established by the pilot project PEPPOL, that refers to the section of electronic supplies. It also allows one way communication of the public services with the citizens.
